Jorge Palacios
George Palacios is Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Languages at Clemson University. He has published the book titled Manuel Zapata Olivella (1920-2004). Pensador politico, radical y hereje de la diáspora africana en las Américas. Medellín: Editorial Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (2020). His articles have appeared in academic journals in Colombia and the United States, mong them, PALARA, Revista de Estudios Colombianos, Revista de Literatura Colombiana, and Escritos. His most current project is a critical study of the processes of racialization and multiculturalism in the Latin American nation-state from an Afro-diasporic perspective that both informs and interrogates contemporary socio-political mobilization as well as cultural and aesthetic manifestations that are currently remapping subjective, collective, national, and transnational identities throughout Latin America, including Brazil.
