 Florencia V. Cornet holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with specialization in Comparative Black Gender Studies, Black Diaspora Studies, and Cultural Studies. She is a faculty at the University of South Carolina-Columbia where she teaches American literature, and Ethnic Rhetoric and Composition. She is also an associate faculty of Latin American Studies, Caribbean, and US Latinx Studies, an affiliate faculty of African American Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Cornet’s areas of teaching, publishing, and research specialization include Latin American, Caribbean and US Afro-Latino/a Cultures; Gender Studies in Global Perspective; and Studies in Global Blackness. Dr. Cornet’s publications have appeared in multiple peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her scholarly work, she is the founder and CEO of the *Dutch Caribbean Think Tank for Caribbean, Latin American and Latinx Cultural Studies.*
